The Lumpkin County Republican party in cooperation with the 7th district's counties is pleased to announce that on Saturday, September 26th the US 250 Tour will be at the University of North Georgia. This will be a celebration of our Nations 250th birthday along with our constitution's 229th birthday, and the one-year anniversary of Charlie Kirks assassination. This is a non-political, family-oriented event, and will be free to the public. Activities will include the US 250 tour Freedom village, kids zone, local Fire and Police booths, Military demonstrations provided by UNG on the drill field, an interactive AI generation of Benjamin Franklin that will answer your questions, period actors dressed as historical figures, food trucks and a main stage with entertainment throughout the day featuring local and national talent. A main concert in the evening will be performed by the Griffith band followed by fireworks. This traveling event was kicked off in December 2025 by President Trump and has gained support from Hollywood celebrities such as John Voight, Kelsey Grammer, Brad Pitt and Gary Sinise.
